Anyone for a serial killers fingernail?

Last Thursday I posted about the end to my pretty short shopping detox in 'Whoopsy daisy!!' It was so short I'm surprised the hours went into three figures. I told you about my buys from Asos but what I didn't tell you about is my purchases from my total eternal love that is Ebay. I didn't want you to start calling the Priory on me. To me Ebay is the perfect man. It surprises you with lovely items, cheap purchases and it even gives you money to spend on shoes when you sell something. It doesn't wake up one morning and give you the 'Its not you its me' speech or send you a Dear John email, which is a plus.

Jesus Toast
I have been a fan of eBay for years,I first fell in love as an eleven year old girl using my mum's name and birth date to get myself an eBay account, sorry Mum. You can find anything on eBay and I mean anything from a serial killer's fingernails to a piece of toast with the face of Jesus on. I'm being totally serious here. People sell the rights to name their baby on eBay along with an imaginary friend. Other weird things sold include a guy selling his soul for 1 million dollars and another man tried to sell his liver for transplants for 5.7 million dollars. Was it made of gold or something? This makes me as a thirteen year old girl wanting to sell my sister on eBay sound sane. Some parents actually put their baby on eBay for a euro as a joke and the baby got taken away from them briefly. The funniest thing I have heard is that a bitter jilted wife got revenge on her husband by selling his mistresses over-sized knickers and a 'small-sized' condom wrapper that she found in their bed. I read a book about this guy who thought his girlfriend was cheating on him and sold all her shoes on eBay!! I would officially die if that happened, so if we break up or have a fight Mr.Boyfriend don't get any ideas!! The girl actually tracked down all the buyers and went all over the world to get all her shoes back. Sounds exactly like what I would do,no one is taking my pink platforms away from me thankyou very much.

eBay is not full of people selling things who need to be sectioned, you can find some real finds. eBay is also my first stop to see if I can find something cheaper,I am a bit of scrouge you see. I am regularly seen in shops using a barcode scanner on my phone and checking if I can find it cheaper before I buy it.
You find that you get quite a few companies selling on eBay and selling things a lot cheaper then in the shop. I was determind to have a pink television, much to my Dad's objections and I found a decent one on Argos. So I looked on eBay and Argos's eBay shop were selling the exact same television for £100 cheaper!! Ebay is great for buying fabric,I buy all my fabric, sewing materials, buttons, ribbons etc on there,my poor postman. You can find some gorgeous classic clothes and old sewing patterns on ther too. I got fifty old sewing patterns for £26 a while ago that I regularly jump up and down about. You can also get 6kg of Mini Eggs for £33!! Yes please Father Christmas!!

I love finding gems on eBay, I do spend an awful lot of time on there,I would say I am a complete eBay addict. My watch list is six pages long and consists of around eight categories. Yes I have put all the items that I am watching into seperate lists, I am a bit of a saddo I know. So last week I found some real jewels!! The lovely 'theflickmistress' was selling some lovely items that I just had to have. Since I was born I've been obsessed with fur. Not real fur the fake stuff,I just want to clarify that so I don't get some animal rights protestors chucking red paint at me. For three months I dragged my poor mother around every fabric shop we could find trying to get some pink leopard print fur. We eventually found it and I had a lovely pink leopard duvet cover much to my cat's delight, that even Del Boy would be proud of.

My dream car
So, in one of my many online window shopping sessions I was looking for a fur coat on Boohoo which have some really gorgeous ones. £80, £70, £90 kept flashing up at me and even I realised that I couldn't justify spending that much,ah not gonna happen. So what did I do,I went to my trusty reliable lover eBay and typed in 'Boohoo Fur Coat'. A B-eautiful coat came up that theflickmistress was selling. It had five days left when I found it and I couldn't wait for it to finish. I didn't tell anyone about it because I knew that I would get the 'do you really need it'  from my mum and  'where are you going to put it? You already have four coats.' I set three alarms in case one of them didn't go off and with ten minutes left I put on my laptop hoping that the internet wouldn't crash like it did when I was bidding on those gorgeous purple peep toes. I'm still gloomy
                                                             from losing out to them.

Thankfully the internet was on my side and I was able to get to the page and put my bid in. After a fight for it between some other bidder I won! I got it for £31 with £4 postage, I was very happy due to the fact that it was £80 on Boohoo! It had only been worn once so it was a great buy.

So a couple of days later a parcel arrived for me and yes I did have the usual wait for ten minutes while my mum talks to the postman about feeding tomato plants and how to make a casserole. I finally managed to get it and rip the wrapper off. I couldn't find any scissors,I never can when I need some so I ended up tearing it all open whilst breaking a nail. I wasn't really bothered, hell I would have used my teeth if I had to. The coat is absolutely gorgeous! The lovely 'flickmistress' included three extra buttons to go with it. The buttons are not just any old boring buttons, they are gorgeous jewelled and sparkly gem buttons! This was an added lovely surprise! I tried it on hoping that the half of a big apple pie I demolished last week with my Grandma wouldn't make a difference. Thankfully it didn't and it fitted gorgeously!!

I won my mum over as soon as she saw the coat. Of course she did the usual check of how thick the fabric is and how well the lining is put in, but it passed her checks so thankfully I won't get the conitnual 'that coat isn't think enough' and 'have you seen how the lining is stitched? Now the lovely fur coat has a new home hanging on my extra clothes rail in my room. Yes I have a completely full slightly wonky clothes rail in my room along with a wardrobe. I also bought another item from 'theflickmistress' two hours later after the coat finished, it is a gorgeous blue bow pattern dress that I got for £2.19!! So now its time to show them off:

Don't worry I wouldn't normally wear the coat with blue £2.50 tracky bottoms from Primark. Note the 'Mummy What's a Sex Pistol?' t-shirt which I wear a lot much to my mother's dismay. I'm in love with this coat and will find any excuse to wear it. I think I'm the only person in the country who wants the weather to be cold just so I can wear my coat. Here is a picture of the gorgeous Bow Dress. It's so weird because the day after I bought it I was looking through some old magazines and I found a picture of Sarah Harding wearing it at a festival last year! Its weird how these coincidences happen.

theflickmistress was so helpful and lovely when I emailed her asking the length of the coat needing to know due to me being just a tad short and my cheeky ask for combined postage. She is selling a lot of things at the moment so please check her stuff out and I guarantee that you will get a good deal.

Item imageHere are a few of her items: A gorgeous Topshop Faux Fur Jacket. The jacket is a size eight and has hardly been worn. Lovely for winter and looks very cosy! She is selling a lot of womens and mens clothes, its like a treasure chest over there.

Item imageAnother one of her items is this Boohoo Badge Pocket Denim Shirt. The shirt has a buttoned front and has some funky badges on. It is a size eight and again it has only been worn a couple of times. I would look great with a pair of skinny jeans and some black knee high boots. So make sure you check out theflickmistress for some great bargains.
I'm off to buy 6kg of Mini eggs....

What I Would Like this week

I was going to call this blog 'What I want this week' but my Grandma always told me to say 'I would like' not 'I want' so that's for you Grandma. Your politeness preaching for the last eighteen years has paid off. This week I have tried very very hard to stay away from my any shopping site, except eBay. That's just not possible. But I am glad (well not really) to tell you that I have not given in to the shopping divinity and I haven't bought anything! Yes ladies and gentleman, nothing! No clothes, no shoes, no make-up, no jewellery,no scarves,no wool, no material, not even some crazy fur fabric that I have seen and just have to have. Nothing. The shopping bag is bare. It has been incredibly hard. I have had so many emails this week from Boohoo, Asos, Dotty Ps, Prodigy Red, New Look who I must say have some gorgeous blouses in,trying to lure me in but as Margaret Thatcher said, the lady is not for turning. I am not going to buy anything.
Since struggling to pay an overdraft on my account of a measly £5 and getting a slightly horrific bank statement I am going on a shopping detox. I will look but I can't buy. Yes I nearly slipped up, I spent two hours putting all the things that I wanted to buy on Boohoo in the shopping bag. I know, I live a very dull life. So I can't let all you lovelies know what I have bought this week, I just have to let you take a peek into my shopping daydreams.

Photo 1 of Teal superskinny jeans
My first item are these Teal Superskinny Jeans from Dorothy Perkins price £30. Firstly, I'm in love with the colour. I'm obsessed with teal and turquoise at the moment. I know what you are thinking, OMG Scene. Well no these aren't the bright coloured jeans you wear with converses and neon rubber bracelets. These are beautifully coloured jeans you wear with a nice pair of heels, preferably purple, a white chiffon top with small black polka dots on and a nice black cotton shoulder padded jacket.I'm tempting myself now! So yes I would love these jeans even though they are superskinny. What are superskinny jeans? Are they literally glued on to your leg or what? Can you move in them? So they may not exactly suit us women with ample proportions in the derriere department, but I think my love affair with the colour will help the 'does my bum look big in these' qualms.

Due to literally issuing myself a restraining order to all clothes websites I have been immersing myself in my other obsession. Vintage cars. They are my eternal infatuation and I am determined to own many in my life. I stalk VW Beetles,Nissan Figaro's and Classic Chevrolet's on eBay. If they were human they would have taken a 100 yards restraining order out on me by now. I have always loved vintage cars and I'm always on the look out for them. Any chance I get to worship them I do. Some people worship a God, I worship the deity that is the classic car. I have been to many vintage car shows with my Dad who also loves them. My sister and Mum are into sports cars and are all about the speed. My Dad and I are more old school. My brother just likes anything he can get to the pub in. The difference between my dad and I is that I don't particularly care if it breaks down on the dual carriageway in 2ft of snow and I have to wait 3 hours for a tow truck, its an amazing looking car, its a nugget of history.Quite honestly I'd rather push a chevy then drive a ford. As you can tell I'm not very practical, you can tell that by the height of my heels. So yeah, I won't bore you anymore with my bordering on unhealthy obsession, but I simply HAVE to show you this car that I have found on one of my 5 hour searches for a VW Beetle that I can afford and that won't break down when I try and go into fourth gear.
This is the most amazing car I have ever seen, I need this car! Ever since I found the picture I've been dreaming about owning it. This is a Gold Leaf- Special Edition of the Volkswagen. I can't find much information on it but I think it has been covered in pearls and something that's silver and white paint. This cars has caused a lot of dispute between me and Mr.Boyfriend. He insists because it says Gold Leaf it is covered in Gold Leaf and the car is in fact gold and I need new glasses. But I am adamant that the car is white and silver. So I'm opening up this dispute to the blogging community. What does everyone think? One day I am determined to own one of these cars but sadly now I will just have to put up with a plastic toy car, a few silver (yes or gold Mr.Boyfriend) beads and some PVA.

So there are my two wants, sorry Grandma things I would like this week. Check in next week to see if I have succumbed to the shopping divinity and fallen off the buying wagon. I'm not promising anything,I'm not very good at detoxes. I think I need another biscuit....

My big hello to the world

Hey everyone,
I am officially saying hello to you all. *waves* I was meant to start this blog as a new years resolution for 2010. Oh and 2011. Then it was in every month that followed and now its September! As you can see I'm not very hot on the whole resolution side of things. I also vowed to stop eating chocolate cake and yeah that hasn't really worked out either. So I have officially decided to metaphorically give myself a kick up the arse and properly start my hopefully new addiction that is my blog. I hope to write about the latest news in fashion, the best deals I've found and what I'd buy if I could, fashion history, interesting info about designers, sewing tutorials, what I've made/ tried out, make up and hair try outs/disasters and I will do a LOT of reminiscing about the golden years, that I sadly was not even thought about when they happened. I will try not to harp on about the amazing Kinks too much or the gorgeous Rock Hudson and what I would do to have my own VW Beetle or Nissan Figaro.

Sadly I have nothing to blog about what I have bought this week because I have no money to buy any new clothes. I know people say that but I literally do mean it. I have savings of course but if I spent that all on clothes and shoes like I'm sure I will eventually do, I don't think my parents or my bank would be too pleased. On the other hand Asos would be and I would advise anyone to buy shares in Asos when I eventually do succumb to my shopping needs because believe me their share prices will rocket!
I am sure one day that I will eventually become a lady who lives in her shoes. I will have lovely clothes and gorgeous shoes but probably nowhere to live.Oh well, at least I will be a fashionable homeless person!I have a serious addiction to shoes. I do sometimes wonder if I am actually adopted and in fact am a secret lovechild of Imelda Marcos. But sadly, inheriting my Dad's wonky ears has proved otherwise.

So for a while I will be blogging about lovely clothes that I want but am not buying, well at least until I can afford something that isn't resembling a £1 Asda drastically thin you can see people's boobs top. Dear old Hotmail is not helping me in my quest to not spend any of my savings. Every day it sends me lovely emails from Boohoo, Asos and many many others telling me all about there fabulous deals and how amazing I could look in a a some leopard and zebra print polazzo trousers that clearly I would not look like Kat Slater but with chilly legs in. Vivienne Westwood, Kurt Geiger and Net a Porter are the worst and the most tempting. If only I could afford something from Net a Porter, but I live in hope. I try not to buy too many clothes but somehow I end up clicking the confirm order button and then remember that I probably actually don’t need another block colour dress.
I find waiting for it can also be the fun bit. Except when you have been waiting for it for 10 days, even though you got a lovely email from them telling you it will be with you in less than three. I love getting the knock at the door, its like having Christmas every week. Sadly sometimes it’s the nice double  glazing man being very concerned about our windows and safety, even though they are already double glazed. But when you open the door and see the delivery man standing there with a big box (they are always big when I buy. Hey if you are gonna do it, you should do it properly.) and you jump up and down, well I do anyway, like a kid in a couture candy store while the delivery guy is looking at you just a little strangely. As soon as he is gone you try to tear open the box, hell you use your teeth if you have to and there enclosed are your clothes. Not anyone else’s. Yours. So you try them on. Sadly sometimes they can be a total disaster either making you look like you are wearing something resembling your Grandma’s carpet or you could be mistaken for a whale, which is definitely not a good look. But when they look good, its like being in heaven for 5 minutes. You get that little excitement inside as you look in the mirror trying to see how your bum looks in it and doing the usual catwalk model poses that you were born to do in THAT dress.

See, every piece of clothing can be justified, somehow. Winter is approaching which is an ideal time for us clothesaholics to convince people that infact we do need those two rails of clothes and more. Its cold so you need nice new jumpers and cardigans or a new woolen dress. You need either new leggings to wear with them and you can’t wear your usual tights with them, well not unless you want to get blue legs. Not a good look either. So you need thicker versions of the ones you already have and you definitely need those mosaic pattern £10 ones that you have been eyeing up since July. You need new skirts or trousers to go with your old or new jumpers. You need nice warm tops to wear under the jumpers. You don’t want the tops to be too warm though, because after you have put on the jumper,a long sleeve top and that thermal vest that your mum insists you wear, a scarf and a hat you tend to get a bit red in the face. You need nice tops underneath so if it does get warmer you can take the jumper off and still have a good outfit on. You need a new coat. Everyone needs a coat don’t they,it’s a necessity. So you need new scarves to go with that new coat. I’m afraid that bobbly one your Grandma gave you six Christmas’s ago just won’t do. So that means you need new gloves to go with the scarf and coat and if you are one of those people who can pull off a hat in winter without looking like you should belong in the Alps, you need a new hat. Now shoes, everyone needs them. And you cant really wear pencil thin heels in 4inches of snow, even though I’m sure Victoria Beckham somehow manages to. Everything can be justified.

So as of late I have been online window shopping. Its when you go through the whole website and put in your bag everything you want. When you see the hefty price that gets calculated, it doesn’t matter because it is only in your virtual basket. You can smugly think about all that money that you are saving but it can be hard not to resist the ‘continue to checkout’ button. I have spent many hours just hovering over that button. What I have also been doing once I’ve seen the sum of the items, is go through it again and take off anything that I don’t think I really really need. This usually ends up totaling one item though. What is also great is taking off the most expensive things and seeing the money go down. I have no idea why this feels good when its only online but it has provided me with hours of entertainment and self praise that I have actually resisted those £20 leggings. Well for now anyway.
